You've asked for it, and we listened: Introducing Fingerprint for Android.

We've been listening to your feedback, and we know it's been a long time coming. But it's finally here: you can now use Fingerprint as a factor to sign in to your Android True Key app! Because with more factors comes even more security.

We're particularly excited to finally offer the Fingerprint feature to our Android users. A new world of multi-factor authentication possibilities is just around the corner.

Since we want to keep you up to speed on new features, we've prepared this blog post to cover some of the questions you may have about Fingerprint. Here's what we'll cover:

Is Fingerprint supported on my device?

How do I add Fingerprint to my profile?

How safe is this feature?

Will my fingerprint information be saved on my other devices?

Enjoy!

Is Fingerprint supported on my device?

As long as you're using an Android device (version 6.0 of higher) equipped with a secure fingerprint reader, the True Key app will guide you through the entire set up process. If you haven't done so already, you'll be prompted to first save your fingerprint information locally on your device. The Fingerprint feature is supported by most Android devices.

How do I add Fingerprint to my profile?

Simple: just update your Android True Key app to the most recent version (1.9.1). Once you sign in to your profile, you'll be prompted to install the Fingerprint feature. Make sure your Android device is equipped with a secure fingerprint reader. The True Key app will guide you through the set up process. Just like when you added the Face feature to your Profile Preferences, you'll be able to add Fingerprint as a factor once you're done setting it up.

How safe is this feature?

Very safe. So safe in fact that unlike the Face feature which must be combined with other factors, the Fingerprint feature can be used as an only factor to verify it's you - as long as you're on a Trusted Device of course. Because after all, nothing is more unique than your fingerprint. But don't worry, you can still take advantage of multi-factor authentication with Fingerprint; combine it with your Master Password for added security.

Moreover, like your facial information, your fingerprint data is always kept safe, because Intel Security never shares or sells your information. We secure it, period.

Will my fingerprint information be saved on my other devices?

For security reasons, your fingerprint information is saved locally on your device. So you'll need to save your fingerprint on each new device you'd like to use it on. However, the Fingerprint feature is compatible with iOS devices (Touch ID) and a Windows PC equipped with a fingerprint reader. Simply save your fingerprint information in your Windows settings and let the True Key app take care of the rest.

So there you go. Now all that's left for you to do is give this cool new Fingerprint feature a try. We hope you'll enjoy it and that it'll make your Android True Key experience that much more special.
